About Anna

I am a political economy thinker and policy designer. I have always loved studying, especially all things about society. My favorite subject at the university was Political Economy. I was excited and fascinated to read and discuss great thinkers, like Russo, Mill, Schumpeter, Marx and many more. I could not figure out what kind of profession I should take based on this passion. I became an economist, working first in a think-tank in Ukraine, focusing on monetary and fiscal policies. But somehow economics profession in its modern way always seemed too narrow and dry for me. I went on to study international relations in the US. This offered me a much broader prospective. Professionally, however, I returned to the economic domain, even to its most notorious part - finance. But I have never abandoned my quest for knowledge and understanding of what is going on with the world. Probably, the fact of being inside of the banking sector encouraged me to look for alternatives. On my quest I studied all things “alternative” – complimentary currencies, participatory democracy, alternative monetary systems etc. It could be broadly defined as democratic economy - an economy for and by the people.

By now I feel very much “learned” and would like to share my insights. By having interests in many domains, I often get aha-moments, which could be used for some innovative policies. With this in mind, I decided to create this website.

Hope you find it interesting and useful.
